During the night, a military base was bombed in central Iraq. This base houses army troops and former pro-Iranian paramilitaries from Hachd al-Chaabi, integrated into the regular Iraqi forces.
Currently, it is reported that one person has died and eight others have been injured in the attack.
SkyNews cites two sources who confirm that the incident occurred as a result of an airstrike. The US has distanced itself from the attack, after a US official said his country was not involved.
The base is used by the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), a group of dozens of armed groups.
"An explosion occurred at the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces at the Kalsu military base in al Mashrou district on the highway, north of Babil Governorate. The investigative team immediately arrived at the scene, where the explosion caused material damage and injuries. We will give you the details after the preliminary investigation has been completed", says the base's announcement.
Footage shared online, filmed from a moving car, shows a fire followed by a large explosion that appears to shoot bright fragments into the air.

The base was once used by US forces and is about 50 km south of Baghdad.
The explosion in Iraq comes a day after Israel struck Iran.
