The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, will visit Greece today, where he will participate in a joint dinner with the leaders of the Western Balkans, called by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The news was announced by the daily newspaper To Vima, which cites several government sources.
According to the newspaper, the news about Zelensky's visit to Athens was not released earlier by the authorities simply for security reasons.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis called the leaders of the Western Balkans to an informal meeting on August 21, but the invitation to Albania did not go to Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The Greek side has officially sent an invitation to President Bajram Begaj to represent Albania. But not even our president of the Republic will go to Athens. The Greek dinner comes before the next meeting of the countries of the Western Balkans with the countries of the EU within the framework of the Berlin process, which will be held in October in Tirana.
But the Albania-Greece relationship seems to have entered the ice age and the reason for this seems to be Alfred Bejleri, the mayor of Himara elected by the cell. His arrest and refusal to take his oath has caused Greeks to take their anger to Brussels.
Earlier, President Zelensky wrote on social networks that Ukraine will soon receive the F-16 fighter jets that, according to him, will bring change to the battlefield.
"Our pilots have already started training in Denmark and very soon 19 F-16 aircraft will be at our disposal," writes Zelensky.
