On the contrary, we hope that next year the Meloni government will carry out a promotional campaign for Italian tourism, at least as effective as what the Meloni government has done this year for Albanian tourism", he writes.
Then Renzi continues to comment on the essence of Giorgia Meloni's gesture. "Is it right - he asks - that a prime minister intervenes to give 80 euros to an Albanian restaurant? Or is it just a communication gesture?".
"This concept - continues Renzi - according to which the government is a kind of sympathetic father/mother who, if you get drunk, will take you in a free taxi to the disco (the only way to find a taxi, these days), if you don't pay the bill, the ambassador arrives and settles the debt, it's the same cultural system for which the house is rebuilt for you - free of charge as Conte said - with state money through a bunch of bonuses.
"I'm not surprised by the gesture itself that aims to get three likes on TikTok. I am surprised by the fact that even the right-wing government has the same cultural structure as the Grillino government", writes Renzi, who adds: "The citizen as a subject to be pampered, subsidized, supported. For me this approach is wrong. The real broad field is the one that goes from Meloni to Conte, passing through Salvini".
Renzi closes his reflection with a joke. "It is needless to say that I am satisfied with the fact that Meloni gave the Albanian restaurant €80. I would never have imagined a better assistance for the easiest press statement of my political life: "We have given €80 for years to ten million Italians.
