A tragic accident happened in Turkey, after 12 people lost their lives from the overturning of a bus. The accident happened in the province of Central Anatolia. The bus with 31 platforms on board was traveling to Istanbul, but ran off the road and ended up in a sugar factory. 12 passengers died, while 19 others were injured.
Local authorities dispatched health, police, gendarmerie and rescue teams to provide assistance. Tragically, 11 passengers died on the spot, while another died in hospital.
The exact cause of the accident remains unknown, as the bus inexplicably left the lane and fell nearly 30 meters down.
The main suspicion is that we may be dealing with negligence on the part of the driver. Cihat Çalışkan, a survivor receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained in the accident, recounted the incident from his hospital bed. "The bus suddenly collided with barriers in the middle of the road. It then collided with trees, turning right and left, before falling off the cliff," he said.
