Mitsotakis did not invite Rama, Von der Leyen from Athens: To break down the

Tonight in Greece, the informal dinner of the leaders of the Western Balkans organized by the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is being held.

Part of this meeting is the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who is already staying in Athens at the invitation of the Greek Prime Minister.

Through a reaction on Twitter, Von der Leyen states that it is important that the alignment of states that aspire to enter the EU should happen as soon as possible.

"We need to bring our friends, the aspiring members of the EU much closer to us and much faster. I am glad to be in Athens to discuss the European perspective of our neighbors and partners in the East and the Western Balkans. We will continue to break down the barriers between our regions," writes Von der Leyen.

We recall that the Greek Prime Minister invited President Bajram Begaj to the informal dinner, but as the Presidency has informed, Begaj has refused to participate due to the agenda defined earlier.

A missing invitation that showed the cold relations between Albania and Greece was that of Prime Minister Edi Rama. Mistotakis did not invite Rama to the organized dinner, thus hinting that there is a coldness between them. The main reason for the breakdown of relations is the Beleri issue. Fredi Beleri is in prison while Greece tries to interfere in Albanian justice by demanding his release, while Rama says that nobody can affect our justice.

Meanwhile, they have confirmed that Prime Ministers Albin Kurti and Dimitar Kovacevski will be present as well as the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.
