New details have emerged about the murder of Greek Giorgos Moschouris, otherwise known as "Thamnakia", while it still remains the main object of investigation by Greek authorities.
According to Greek media, the victim is suspected of being involved in the cigarette trafficking of the Russian mafia operating in Greece as well as in 'fining' nightclubs.
His 'death contract' is suspected to have been issued by his opponents currently in Dubai. It is said that 1 million euros have been put on his 'head'.
The suspected customer is a 50-year-old man, born in Georgia, with the nicknames "Entik" and "Zëri".
Greek police have located "Entik", who according to information, resides in Dubai and is likely under house arrest. Despite the efforts of the Greek police to extradite him, the extradition request has not been fulfilled so far.
Authorities report that Moschouris' murder is linked to other executions of high-ranking Greek mafia figures, such as Skaftouris, Zambounis, Roumpetis and Mouzakitis. All of these individuals were targeted by the same criminal organization, and it appears that the elimination of "Thamnakia" was the next step in a chain of purges.
Tragic irony with... "bushes"
Moschouris' execution was carried out in a brutal manner. The perpetrators, dressed in black, awaited their victim hidden behind bushes, using the pseudonym Moschouris, which he had acquired in the late 1990s, when he was the head thug of a well-known night-time gangster at the time.
When he undertook various “jobs,” he always found an area with bushes or dense vegetation to hide and wait for his target. So, behind the bushes and plants that separate the outdoor parking lot from the side entrance, his killers hid, waiting for their victim, whom they killed with dozens of bullets, completely disregarding the possibility of serious injury or death to innocent citizens.
The killers immediately fled to Patimë, Çalandri, where they set fire to the car to cover their tracks, showing professionalism and detailed planning of the crime.
"Suspicious" arrival in Thessaloniki
An important piece of information that has come to light, according to “Realnews”, is the presence of three Ukrainians in Thessaloniki, who are suspected of being linked to the contract for Moschouris’ death. This information, which became known about a month and a half ago, now takes on special importance as the three Ukrainians may be involved in the execution. Officers of the Organized Crime Prosecution believe that this connection to Moschouris’ “dark” past could provide crucial answers to the case.
The Greek police are continuing their investigations with the aim of catching the perpetrators and uncovering all the facts surrounding the mafia execution of Giorgos Moschouris. In the fight to unravel the case, the authorities are awaiting new evidence and information that could shed light on the dark network behind the mafia purges in Greek territory.
