Delegations from Russia and the United States held technical consultations in Riyadh yesterday on the possibility of a comprehensive 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine. Today, both delegations have sent reports to their respective leaders and are awaiting responses on next steps.
This was also confirmed by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who said that after analyzing the reports of the talks, we can talk about whether we have an agreement. Peskov further added that the media should not wait for details of the talks to be published. According to him, they are very technical issues that cannot be shared with the general public.
"After all, these are technical talks. Technical - I mean talks with going into detail, so of course the content of these talks will not be made public for sure. This is something that should not be expected. Currently, the reports made [by the delegations] in their capitals are being analyzed and only later will it be possible to talk about any understanding ," Peskov said.
