Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Vladimir Putin is "orchestrating" the rift between Ukraine and Poland. He stressed the need for patience, as he warned that a "solution" to the war in Ukraine is approaching.
Tusk urged the two countries not to fall prey to the divisions and provocations that Putin is sowing between Kiev and Warsaw. According to the Polish prime minister, these divisions are being fueled by some local idiots who unknowingly serve Moscow.
“Russia is doing everything to sow discord between Kiev and Warsaw. Anti-Polish gestures by Ukrainians and the stirring up of anti-Ukrainian sentiments in Poland are Putin’s script, orchestrated by foreign agents and domestic idiots. Always the same ,” Tusk said.
Poland has been one of Ukraine's strongest supporters since Russia invaded it in 2022, but some Poles have grown weary of refugees from their war-torn neighbor.
On August 9, at least 57 Ukrainians were reported to have been arrested and deported after riots at a Belarusian rap concert in Warsaw.
