Although the 20-hour meeting between the American and Iranian delegations in Pakistan ended without an agreement, indirect channels of talks between the parties appear not to have been completely closed.
US Vice President JD Vance stressed that Iran did not accept the main conditions, especially those related to the nuclear program, and left Pakistan this morning.
However, unofficial sources report that indirect talks between the Americans and Iranians continued even after the delegation left, using Pakistan as a mediator. This has not been officially confirmed by either the United States or Iran.
As has often happened in past years, the exact nature of these discussions in secret channels remains difficult to verify.
A spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry stressed that Tehran "never expected an agreement to be reached in a single session."
So far, neither the White House nor Tehran have issued any new official statements about the continuation of indirect talks.
