Iranian citizens reacted with disappointment after peace talks between Iran and the United States failed to reach an agreement.

The Associated Press reports that Farhad Simia, 43, who is in Tehran, expressed his earlier hope for a positive outcome that would lead to an end to tensions. However, he stressed that he supports his country despite the failure.

According to him, negotiations remain the best path, while he attributed the responsibility for the lack of agreement to demands that he considered inappropriate by the US.

A similar stance was expressed by Mehdi Hosseini, also 43, who praised the Iranian negotiating team for maintaining the positions reached, refusing to back down. The citizen described this as a reason for optimism.

"The fact that the Iranian negotiating team managed to preserve what it achieved in the war, while refusing to retreat and surrender, gives reason for hope," he said.

The atmosphere in the capital reflected a symbolic mobilization, with numerous national flags and public messages praising the country's achievements. In several public spaces, including murals and large billboards, messages were displayed emphasizing Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz.

Hamid Haghi, 55, stated that the failure of the negotiations is related to US efforts to expand influence in the region, especially in the Strait of Hormuz, which he considered part of the national heritage that Iran should administer itself.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Bagher, 60, stressed that Iran remains open to dialogue, but only if its interests are respected. He underlined that the country does not seek conflict, but is ready to stand firm in the face of external pressure.
