Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic had a much more difficult conversation with the CNN journalist where he was invited to talk about the tensions in the north of Kosovo.
At several moments, the journalist asks the Serbian president if he recognizes Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state, but Vucic often changes the subject and gets confused. She reminded the Serbian president that it is a fact that Serbia does not recognize Kosovo's independence, so she asks what Serbia will do?
"I didn't hear your last question, I'm sorry!" Vucic said.
"My question is, will you recognize Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state?" the journalist said.
" We recognize the UN Charter and the UN Resolution, but we are always ready to discuss all compromise solutions and we have always been ready for this and we always will be. Let's say President Putin is mentioned and I can tell you that I have also heard your media and other media that Serbia, under the directives of Russia, will attack this or that country or ethnicity. This certainly did not happen ," answered the president.
But the journalist did not ask him about Putin and interrupted him.
"No one mentioned either Russia or Putin in relation to the tensions." Embarrassed, Vucic says that he misunderstood the question.
Vucic, among other things, stated that Serbia is very satisfied with the recent reactions made by the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, and by the President of France, Macron, who blamed Albin Kurti for inciting tensions in the north. He also stated that Serbia's obligations arising from the signed agreements have been fulfilled 100% in accordance with UN Resolution 12/44.
Asked how the situation can be de-escalated, Vucic said that the Serbs will continue the peaceful protests and will do everything to stabilize the situation, which according to him has been destabilized by the Pristina regime.
