Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has condemned the latest Israeli bombing of his country, saying it disregards all efforts for peace and humanitarian laws in the Middle East. He added that Israel is committing a 'new massacre'.
“ Israel continues to expand its aggressions targeting densely populated residential neighborhoods. These attacks were indifferent to all regional and international efforts to stop the war and showed a complete disregard for the principles of international law and international humanitarian law. Israel is once again intensifying its aggression, committing a new massacre that adds to its infamous past, in flagrant violation of all human values, and in complete disregard of all efforts aimed at de-escalation and stability,” said Nawaf Salam, after Israel bombed parts of Beirut.
Israel has said the ceasefire agreement, announced by Donald Trump last night, does not include its war against the Iranian-backed militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces have previously claimed that Hezbollah includes its personnel and operations within civilian infrastructure.
