On the other hand, the Revolutionary Guard said on Wednesday afternoon that it had its "hand on the trigger" and was ready to respond to any attack with greater force, according to the Tasnim news agency.
The Guard said it had struck energy complexes and oil pipelines linked to the United States and Israel last night, including oil facilities in the Saudi port city of Yanbu, according to state media.
It was not clear whether this happened before or after the agreement to temporarily halt attacks on Iran, announced by the United States.
