Europe is currently in a "pre-war" era, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said. During an interview given to the German newspaper 'Die Welt', Tusk said that it is necessary to invest in defense systems.
According to him, Europe is in a situation that has not been seen since 1945.
"I know it sounds devastating, especially for the younger generation, but we have to get used to the fact that a new era has begun: the pre-war era. I am not exaggerating, and this is becoming clearer every day", said Tusk.
Tusk went on to say that "war is no longer a concept from the past".
"The most worrying thing at the moment is that literally any scenario is possible. We haven't seen a situation like this since 1945," he added.
