The United States of America has communicated to Iran and Israel that the conflict in the Middle East should not escalate.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the US will continue to defend Israel against attacks while stressing that the risk of escalating tensions is high.
"We have been engaged in diplomacy intensively with allies and partners, we have communicated that message directly to Iran and Israel. The US will continue to defend Israel against attacks and that everyone in the region must understand the risk of escalation and the situation ," said Blinken.
The Middle East could face a wave of attacks from Iran and its allies after last week's assassination of senior members of Hamas and Hezbollah, The Guardian reported.
