Turkish journalist Ragip Soylu has revealed that Russia is hiring 500 Serbian mercenaries to send to fight in Ukraine.
According to French intelligence, it is expected that by September 1, several hundred mercenaries from the Western Balkans, and especially from Serbia, will arrive at a temporary camp in the Moscow region.
"To accommodate them, a 'Serbian Unit' has been created as part of the 106th Division," wrote Soylu on the X social network.
He adds that the recruits are mainly from Serbia and Serbian citizens from neighboring countries.
"Between mid-July and mid-August, 50 candidates were selected and brought to Russia on commercial flights in groups of two or three under the guise of a contract with a front construction company," he adds.
A few days ago, the Russian soldier with the nickname "Rusi" sent a message of thanks to the Serbian mercenaries engaged in the war in Ukraine.
"Russia" in a Serbian-language post made on the Russian social network Telegram, threatens by inviting that the Serbian army will soon be in Kosovo.
"I thank the Serbian volunteers, who are fighting side by side with us. We will do everything so that the Serbian flag flies in Prizren, when the army returns to Kosovo", he says.
