Since the early hours of Tuesday morning, hundreds of supporters laid flowers in front of the mansion. A large banner read "Thank you, Mr. President." Dozens of flags of Forza Italia and those of the Milan team in commemoration of the former prime minister and president of Silvio Berlusconi. His villa is visited by a close circle of people and the ceremony will be private at the request of the family.
Since Monday afternoon, the coffin has been in Villa San Martino, in Arcore, the birthplace of Silvio Berlusconi. The inhabitants of this town feel sad.
"Berlusconi's death was quite shocking news. I heard the news on the radio at 09:30. I didn't expect him because he was released from the hospital and seemed to be fine. We heard this very bad news and we are very sad. I feel sorry for the city of Arcore and for all of Italy, because Berlusconi was a great person".
There are those who appreciate him for what he has given to the Milan team.
"He was the best president that Milan has ever had. He will always be in our hearts."
The state funeral is scheduled to be held at the Duomo Cathedral in Milan. The President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and other political leaders will also participate in the farewell ceremony. The ceremony will be led by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Milan, Monsignor Mario Delpini. Wednesday will be a day of national mourning and the flags of the institutions will be flown at half-mast.

The 86-year-old former prime minister passed away around 09:30 on Monday. He was admitted to the San Rafaele hospital in Milan after suffering from leukemia and pneumonia in the lungs.
