702 firefighters with 27 forestry teams, 199 vehicles and volunteers are working to extinguish the fire with the help of all Civil Defense agencies as well as 3 planes and 9 helicopters, one of which is coordinating.
Today, forces from France, Italy, Serbia, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Romania are expected to arrive in Greece for help through the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
In the meantime, firefighters have removed the dead body of a 60-year-old woman from a building that was engulfed in flames in a place called Patima Halandri in Greece.
Earlier, the industrial building where the victim worked was engulfed in a fire that broke out in the area on Monday afternoon.
20 employees of the company were evacuated in time, but the woman, who is known to be a foreign citizen and had a residence permit in Greece, could not get out and as a result lost her life in the flames.
