Other details have come to light from the stabbing of a mother and her 11-year-old daughter in London.
CNN writes that it was a security guard who calmly tried to save the 34-year-old and her daughter from the aggressor. London's Westminster Police said a man was arrested as the perpetrator of this serious attack.
Security guard Abdullah, 29, said he was working at a nearby tea shop in the square when he "heard a scream" and saw the mother and daughter being attacked by a man who appeared to be in his thirties.
"I jumped on him, held the hand in which he had the knife, and laid him on the ground, and then I took the cold weapon from him," he said.
Two other people came to help him hold the attacker down before the police arrived and arrested him.
Abdullah said he and two others had administered first aid to the girl before the police took control of the situation.
"I just saw a kid getting stabbed and I just tried to save him. It is my duty to save them," he said.
UK police remain on high alert after days of far-right unrest earlier this month, fueled by misinformation about a deadly knife attack in northern England.
After the incident, mother and daughter were transported to the hospital, and it is reported that they are out of danger.
