Accused of crimes against humanity, Putin calls on Israel and Hamas: Minimize

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called on both sides in the fighting between Israel and Hamas to "minimize or reduce to zero" civilian casualties.

In a statement from Moscow about the long Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Putin said that according to him, the lack of a solution between the two states has led to the current "explosion of violence".

Israel, as we know, was created, but Palestine as an independent sovereign state was never created, it did not happen," he said.

Further, the Russian president expressed his concern about the increasing violence and asked to avoid attacks on women, children and the elderly.

" We understand that the bitterness on both sides is very great, but regardless of the level of bitterness on both sides, we still have to try to minimize or reduce to zero the losses among the civilian population, among women, children and the elderly. If men decide to fight among themselves, let them fight among themselves. Leave the children and women alone ," Putin said.

Putin's comments, according to CNN, come as he continues a war against Ukraine and is being investigated by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity, including allegations of targeting civilians.

Putin made his statement at a plenary session of the "Russian Energy Week" international forum in Moscow, where the Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq, Mohammed al-Sudani, who is on an official visit to Russia, also participated.
