French President Emmanuel Macron has commented on recent events regarding Israel's attacks on Iran, emphasizing France's support for Israel's right to self-defense, but at the same time calling for restraint and a reduction in tensions in the Middle East region.
In a statement published on the X network, Macron recalled that France has consistently condemned Iran's nuclear program and has taken diplomatic measures to address threats from Tehran.
"To avoid destabilizing the entire region, I call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and work to reduce tensions ," the French President said.
Following the Israeli airstrikes, Macron called a meeting of the French National Defense and Security Council to discuss measures to protect French citizens, as well as the security of diplomatic and military missions in the region. He assured that the state would take all necessary actions to ensure defense and stability.
