A serious incident has shaken the city of Adana in Turkey today, where a former police officer shot and killed his son after a heated argument between them.
According to Turkish portal Haberler, it all started when Ahmet Kaan Kayhan asked his father, Faruk Kayhan, for money. The latter refused, leading to a verbal conflict that quickly escalated.
Reports indicate that during the fight, Ahmet Kayhan, who according to Turkish media is suspected of being a drug user, attacked his father with a knife.
At that moment, the former police officer pulled out his gun and shot his son several times.

Ahmet Kayhan was hit in various parts of his body and fell to the ground, dying at the scene.
After the shooting, Faruk Kayhan called the police himself and stood by his son's lifeless body until law enforcement arrived.
When authorities arrived at the scene, he immediately confessed to the crime and surrendered without resistance.
Medical teams confirmed the death of Ahmet Kayhan, while the former police officer was arrested and handed over the weapon used in the crime.
He was escorted to the Homicide Investigation Department, where he is being questioned about the circumstances of the incident.
