India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri accused Pakistan of repeated ceasefire violations on Saturday after explosions were heard in parts of Kashmir administered by India and Pakistan.
"Over the past few hours, there have been repeated violations of the agreement reached earlier this evening between the directors general of military operations of India and Pakistan. This is a violation of the agreement reached earlier today. The armed forces are giving a befitting and appropriate response and are paying close attention to these violations ," Misri said in a televised address on Saturday evening.
Misri said India is calling on Pakistan to take appropriate steps to address these violations and to deal with the situation seriously and responsibly. He added that the Indian army has been instructed to "deal with forcefully" ceasefire violations along the border and the Line of Control in Kashmir.
Pakistan has yet to publicly respond to Egypt's accusations. The Pakistani prime minister is scheduled to speak late tonight local time.
