Israeli commandos operated in Iran during the 12-day war, according to a statement by IDF Chief of Staff Major General Eyal Zamir.
"We inflicted significant damage on Iran's missile capabilities, destroyed hundreds of missile launchers, and caused significant delays to their plans.
"In addition, we achieved superiority in the fields of information, technology and aviation. We achieved a level of operational freedom in the skies of Iran and in any location we chose to operate," Zamir said.
He says these achievements were "made possible, among other things, thanks to the coordination by the commandos' air and ground forces."
"These forces operated covertly deep in enemy territory and carried out operations that provided us with operational freedom of action," Zamir concluded.
