A senior United Arab Emirates official has demanded that Iran pay compensation for damages caused to Gulf countries, describing Tehran's behavior as aggressive and premeditated.
The reaction comes at a time when Iran itself has demanded compensation from the United States and Israel for the damages caused by the ongoing conflict, which has entered its 30th day.
In a public statement on the X platform, the advisor to the UAE president, Anwar Gargesh, stressed that any political agreement must directly address Iran's actions towards the region.
“Any political solution that addresses Iran’s aggression against the Gulf Arab states must include clear guarantees to prevent future attacks, enshrine the principle of non-aggression, and include Iranian compensation for targeting civilian populations and vital civilian infrastructure,” Gargesh wrote.
He also added that Iran had deceived its neighbors before the conflict began and acted with premeditated intent. According to Gargesh, Tehran now represents "the main threat to the security of the Arab Gulf countries."
