The European Union Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) has issued a warning to commercial ships to avoid Yemeni territorial waters, due to the increased risk from possible attacks by Houthi rebels.
According to international reports, this warning comes after a missile attack launched by the Houthis on Israel, while the Iran-backed group has warned of continued military operations.
European authorities say the risk is particularly high in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, strategic areas for global trade. Of particular concern is the possibility of disruption of traffic in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, a key point connecting major international shipping routes.
The EU military operation "EUNAVFOR ASPIDES" has called on commercial ships, especially those affiliated with the US and Israel, to avoid this area until the situation stabilizes.
According to the latest assessment, the threat level for ships with Israeli ties is considered "high," while the situation in the region remains tense and unstable.
