Iran's actions in the region represent a "dangerous escalation" that threatens stability in the Middle East, a joint statement from the US and six Gulf allies said.
"Targeting civilians and states not involved in war zones constitutes reckless behavior that undermines stability," the statement issued by the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said.
The statement, originally published in Arabic, was issued jointly by Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and the US. They say they are "affirming our right to self-defense" as apparent Iranian attacks in the region continue.
Attacks have reportedly occurred in Bahrain, Iraq (including the Iraqi Kurdistan region), Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
