Sanae Takaichi warns of the dangers of Iran's nuclear program and the impact on the world economy
During a meeting in the Oval Office with US President Donald Trump, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi stated that only Trump has the ability to achieve peace on a global level.
According to BBC reporting, Takaichi stressed that Iran's development of nuclear weapons "must never be allowed," warning of serious consequences for international security and global economic stability.
She added that the global economy risks facing major shocks as a result of recent developments, while confirming that Japanese officials have directly called on Iran to stop attacks on energy infrastructure.
For his part, Donald Trump reiterated his stance regarding the conflict with Iran, stating that the United States and Israel have neutralized Iran's main military capabilities, including the navy, air force and leadership structures.
"We've taken out everything but the pipes," Trump said, adding that military operations have progressed faster than anticipated.
Asked about the possibility of sending additional US troops to the region, Trump said he had no plans for such a deployment. However, he added that even if he had a plan, he would not make it public.
