"Slaughterhouse" in Ukraine, Kiev records about 100,000 Russian war

The Ukrainian Minister of Justice, Denis Maliuska, told 'N1' television in Zagreb that about 100,000 war crimes committed by Russian forces during the aggression against Ukraine have been recorded so far.

He stated this on the occasion of a three-day workshop on the investigation and prosecution of war crimes - the transfer of Croatian knowledge and experience to Ukrainian judges and prosecutors.

"The war in Ukraine is quite similar to what happened in Croatia. Indeed, the most important experience from which we can learn in Europe is that of Croatia. You have been quite successful in terms of prosecuting the criminals of war and cooperation with the Hague Court ", said Maliuska.

He also said that it is difficult to establish a court for these war crimes, but added that "[Vladimir] Putin's position in Russia has been shaken and the chances of him being arrested and brought to The Hague are now much higher than one in half year ago".

Maliuska added that investigators have been collecting evidence from social networks and using it in investigations since 2014.

The workshop on the investigation and prosecution of war crimes was organized by the Ministry of Justice and Administration of Croatia in cooperation with the Advisory Group on Crimes and Atrocities./ REL
