Hamas has rejected Israel's offer to supply the Al Shifa hospital, said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The hospital, which is Gaza's largest, suspended operations yesterday after its last generator ran out of fuel, the Hamas-led health ministry said.
Heavy fighting in the area around the medical facility was also reported overnight.
" We just offered Shifa hospital the fuel, they refused it ," said the Israeli prime minister, without giving further details.
At least 12 people, including two newborn babies, have died in hospital due to power outages and medical supplies running low, Palestinian Health Minister Dr Mai al Kalia said earlier today.
Located in the West Bank and not supported by Hamas, it warned of a "health disaster" at the facility as crews struggle to bury the bodies.
