The Middle East is on fire

A senior Israeli official said the decision to attack Iran was made during Benjamin Netanyahu's recent visit to Washington, Channel 12 reported. "The Iranians were given one last chance and they blew it, as we predicted," the Israeli official said.

The attack on Iran began this morning, while Israel and the US coordinated between them.

The IRGC responded by launching "Truth Promise 4" missiles against US bases. The Iranian missiles were directed at targets in Bahrain, Jerusalem, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi and Jordan.

The attack comes at a time when the United States has assembled a large fleet of fighter jets and warships in the region to try to pressure Iran to reach a deal on its nuclear program.

US base in Iraq attacked

Smoke billowed from a US base near the airport in Erbil, the capital of the semi-autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq. Explosions were heard in the area, according to the Associated Press. Local media reported that the missiles had been shot down. There was no immediate comment from Iraqi or US officials.

Attack to create conditions for the fall of the regime

The aim of the US-backed Israeli attack on Iran “is to create all the conditions for the fall of the Iranian regime,” an Israeli official told Axios, adding that “developments will also depend on the extent to which the Iranian people rise up.” Israeli officials have said Israel is targeting the entire Iranian leadership and that Khamenei’s residence and government complex were hit.

Among the targets, officials said, are President Masoud Pezeshkian, Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander Ahmad Vahidi, Khamenei’s top security adviser, Ali Shamkhani, and former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. A senior U.S. official told Axios that the U.S. strikes have focused on Iran’s missile program and missile launchers, while the Israeli strikes are aimed at both eliminating senior Iranian officials and targeting the missile program.

125 missiles fired at Israel, 35 enter airspace

A total of 125 missiles were fired at Israel from Iran during the first attack, 35 of which entered Israeli airspace, the Jerusalem Post reports. The rest were intercepted.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard announced that Operation "Promise of Truth 4" was launched "in response to the American-Zionist aggression against Iranian territory." According to the statement, the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain was attacked with missiles and drones, as were US bases in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, "as well as military and security centers in the heart of Israel." It was reported that "missile attacks by Iranian forces continue and detailed information will be published later." Several explosions were heard in Riyadh, amid a regional escalation following US and Israeli attacks on Iran and the response with missiles targeting US bases in Bahrain and Qatar, AFP correspondents at the scene reported. Journalists described "a powerful explosion and several explosions" in the Saudi capital.

Khamenei's palace destroyed, its location unknown

The palace of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been completely destroyed. Channel 12 reports, citing anonymous Israeli sources, who say it is not clear whether Khamenei was present. Khamenei's whereabouts are currently unknown. He has not appeared in public in recent days and was not seen immediately after the attack. It is believed that during the 12-Day War in June, he was taken to a safe house, away from his compound in Tehran. All of Iran's top leaders were targeted in today's attacks.

Unofficial reports have reported the deaths of Revolutionary Guard commander Mohammad Pakpour and Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh following raids in Iran. /Pamphlet/
