The European Union's chief diplomat, Kaja Kallas, has reacted to recent developments in the Middle East, describing the American and Israeli attacks against Iran, as well as Tehran's response, as dangerous.
In a post on the X platform, Kallas announced that the European Union is working with Arab partners to find solutions through diplomacy.
"We are coordinating with Arab partners to find diplomatic paths," she wrote.
According to her, the protection of civilians and respect for international humanitarian law remain top priorities.
"The protection of civilians and international humanitarian law is a priority," Kallas stressed.
She also added that the EU consular network is fully committed to assisting in the evacuation of European citizens from the region.
"Our consular network is fully committed to facilitating the departure of EU citizens. Non-essential EU personnel are leaving the region ," she said.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has confirmed the attacks and stated that the aim is to eliminate the “threat from the Iranian regime”. He also addressed the Iranian people, stating: “After the attacks, you take charge of the government .”
On the other hand, Iranian military forces have launched counterattacks with drones and missiles against several Middle Eastern countries, as tensions in the region continue to rise.
