Israel's national airline, El Al, has announced the suspension of all its flights until at least June 19, due to the escalating security situation in the region and the open conflict with Iran.
Initially, El Al had suspended flights until June 17, but the closure of Israeli airspace has forced the company to extend the flight ban.
Also, a number of flights to various European cities have been canceled until June 23.
"Once we receive approval from the relevant security and aviation authorities, we will do everything possible to repatriate as many Israelis as possible, gradually resume our flight schedule, and operate rescue flights from destinations near Israel ," El Al said in a press statement.
Meanwhile, Israel's National Security Council (NSC) has issued a warning to Israeli citizens planning to return to the country via Egypt or Jordan, even though the borders with these countries are still open.
Authorities advise avoiding travel via these routes for safety reasons.
