
Ukraine's newly appointed defense minister, Rustem Umerov, has called on Kiev's partners to increase shipments of heavy weapons amid a long and difficult counteroffensive against Russian forces.
Umerov expressed his gratitude to the allies, but emphasized that the supply of weapons is necessary, writes The Guardian.
"We are grateful for all the support provided...we need more heavy weapons," Umerov said.
We recall that, two days ago, Russian troops launched rocket attacks in Ukraine against the cities of Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhya and Sumy, leaving behind 1 victim and injuring at least 45 people, Kyiv Independent reported.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko announced that Russia struck a police station in Kryvvi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, also damaging residential buildings nearby.
