Cristiano Ronaldo's hotel in Morocco has become a place of refuge for earthquake survivors.
The 6.8 magnitude earthquake left over 2,000 dead and 3,000 others injured. As a result, people have gone to every building they can to find shelter after the natural disaster, including Ronaldo's hotel.
The latter, called Pestana CR7 Marrakech, is rated four stars, just below luxury, and includes an outdoor pool, gym, restaurant and terrace.
But as Moroccans come together to recover from the catastrophic earthquake, the hotel has put aside its upmarket qualities and is sheltering those affected by the earthquake.
A survivor of the earthquake said:
"Now we have managed to get Cristiano Ronaldo's hotel, which is on the outskirts, to give us a room. We are waiting, we slept all night on the street and at seven in the morning they told us that yes, we can be accommodated. We are in a lobby many people of different nationalities, waiting to see if we can get a room, but we all slept on the street."
The country's royal palace has declared three days of national mourning.
He also said the armed forces would deploy rescue teams to provide clean drinking water, food supplies, tents and blankets to the affected areas.
Many of the victims are believed to be in hard-to-reach mountainous areas. The epicenter was in the High Atlas Mountains, 71 km (44 miles) southwest of Marrakesh.
Many people are still believed to be under the rubble and rescue efforts are underway. Some bodies have already been recovered.
