Trade war, 70 countries seek negotiations with Donald Trump

Donald Trump has shocked the world after imposing tariffs, sparking massive backlash as countries expressed fears of rising prices. Some countries have even warned of countermeasures.

White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt said nearly 70 countries have approached the US to talk about tariffs since Donald Trump's historic "liberation day" last Wednesday.

"The American economic surrender mistake is over. These countries have a lot of respect for the president. Trump will only make deals with these countries if they benefit American workers," she said.

Leavitt said that after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the White House yesterday, he said he would eliminate the country's trade deficit with the US, adding that his "proactive approach should act as a model for the rest of the world."

"Countries are falling over themselves. Why? It's because these countries have a lot of respect for the US and the great power of the American market ," says Leavitt.

"Trump is already fulfilling his promise to usher in a golden age for our country. The President will no longer allow American companies to be robbed at the hands of foolish trade practices. It's America First," the US press secretary continued.
