Billionaire Elon Musk has continued his rhetoric with Trump's top trade adviser, Peter Navarro, in defense of Tesla.
"Tesla makes most of America's cars. Navarro is dumber than a sack of bricks," Musk wrote on X.
In another post, he continued, saying: " Navarro is truly an idiot. What he says is patently false. By any definition you look at it, Tesla is the most complete car manufacturer in America, with the highest percentage of American parts used," he added.
Musk has responded to Navarro's interview with CNBC on Monday, in which he claimed that Elon Musk is not a car manufacturer, but a simple "assembler," as Tesla vehicles are made up of parts sourced from abroad.
A few days earlier, in a post he later deleted, Musk had written that Navarro “hasn’t built anything…” In another post, he questioned his qualifications, stating: “A PhD in economics from Harvard is a weakness, not an advantage.”
White House press secretary Caroline Levitt appeared unfazed by Musk's public attacks on a government official.
"However, we are the most transparent government in history, we openly express our disagreements," she responded to a reporter who asked her about Musk's attacks on Navarro.
