The Prime Minister of North Macedonia Dimitar Kovacevski and the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met in Athens at the informal conference on the Balkans and talked about the statement of the Minister of Defense of Serbia, Milos Vučević, who said that "North Macedonia and Montenegro have done them harm Serbia recognizing the independence of Kosovo".
"Tonight we talked with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Athens. He assured me that as a representative of the Serbian state, he considers the Macedonian people and the Macedonian state to be extremely friendly and that if any Macedonian citizen is offended by any message from the Serbian state, he will personally apologize," Kovacevski announced on his Facebook page. .
Earlier, North Macedonia's head of diplomacy, Bujar Osmani, reacted to the statement, who announced that "North Macedonia rejects the interventions and inappropriate remarks of neighboring officials.
"We stand for regional stability and cooperation, including Serbia and Kosovo. We are waiting for an explanation from the Minister of Defense of Serbia", adds Osmani in the post on Facebook.
Immediately after that, the Serbian minister in a response to Osmani on the X social network wrote that "despite all the malicious and unfounded reports in the media, Serbia acts as a responsible, reliable and predictable partner of all our neighbors and for because of Serbia's support for the territorial integrity of all UN member countries is unconditional".
