UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called on Europe to come together to create an effective immigration policy in order to prevent illegal movements.
This statement of his comes immediately after the tragedy that occurred on the Greek coast, where a ship with 400 migrants sank and at least 79 people lost their lives.
Greek media reports that the number of traffickers arrested involved in this tragedy has reached 9.
"We are in contact with the Greek authorities, but let's be honest. This is not a Greek problem. It is European. I think it is time for Europe, in solidarity, to define an effective immigration policy so that such an accident does not happen again," said Guterres.
