To mark America's 250th anniversary this summer, American citizens can get a limited-edition U.S. passport featuring President Donald Trump's portrait, Fox News first reported.
The US State Department confirmed the special passport designs to USA Today in an email on April 28.
"As the United States celebrates America's 250th anniversary in July, the State Department is preparing to issue a limited number of passports specially designed to commemorate this historic occasion," said State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott.
"These passports will include personalized illustrations and enhanced visuals, while maintaining the same security features that make the US passport one of the most secure documents in the world," he added.
According to preliminary designs shared by the agency, the inside cover will feature President Trump and his signature alongside the Declaration of Independence. Another page will feature a scene of the Founding Fathers signing the 1776 document. Both pages have the American flag as a backdrop.
The back cover will feature a representation of the flag, with the number "250" in the center of a circle with 13 stars.
According to the State Department, the anniversary passports will be available only at the Passport Agency in Washington to U.S. citizens applying for a new identification document, while supplies last. The agency did not say how many special edition passports will be produced. There will be no additional fee to obtain a passport with the new design.
The expected release date is July, to coincide with other 250th anniversary activities, including a 16-day transformation of the National Mall into a major U.S. state fair with livestock shows and rodeo events.
