The Chairman of the Opportunity Party, Agron Shehaj, says that it is hard to believe that the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of the Environment, which have failed to stop the arrival of toxic waste at the Port of Durrës, are responsible for investigating this matter. .
In an interview for "News24", Shehaj said that if these ministries have not been able to stop the trafficking of waste, this is a serious failure and in the worst case, they could be part of this dangerous traffic.
According to Shehaj, it is incomprehensible that institutions that may be suspects in this affair are engaged in its investigation.
He demands that an international investigation be carried out on these remains, raising the concern that they may be secretly buried in Albania, seriously endangering the health of citizens.
" The Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of the Environment, in the best case for them, have failed to stop the trafficking of toxic waste from the port of Durrës. At worst, they are part of this trafficking.
This is incredible. How can someone who is the prime suspect investigate this affair.
An international investigation is necessary to shed light on this affair and to understand what toxic waste is in these containers and to find out and find the best way to dispose of this waste. We cannot allow this affair not to be investigated, we cannot allow these toxic wastes to be buried somewhere in Albania and no one to find out what has been done with them and the health of the citizens to be put at risk ", he said.
