European Parliament Resolution against Serbia/ Dačić gets irritated, attacks
Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic

Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic has leveled accusations against European Union countries that have supported the European Parliament's latest resolution on Serbia, claiming that they have "violated Serbia's territorial integrity" by recognizing Kosovo.

His comments came after the European Parliament expressed concern about Serbia's activities that, according to the resolution, undermine the sovereignty of neighboring countries.

Dacic stated that Serbia “has never violated the territorial integrity of any country,” while accusing the states that have recognized Kosovo of violating Serbia’s territory. However, these claims contradict the legal and political reality that has existed for more than 18 years.

Kosovo declared independence on February 17, 2008 and to date has been recognized by over 100 countries, including most member states of the European Union and the United States of America.

Also, the International Court of Justice, in its 2010 advisory opinion, found that Kosovo's declaration of independence did not violate international law.

Despite this, Serbia continues to consider Kosovo part of its territory and opposes international recognition of its statehood.

In his statement, Dacic went even further, demanding that the European Union, before criticizing Serbia, "condemn the recognition of Kosovo," repeating the claim that Kosovo "will never be a member of the United Nations."

He also criticized the European integration process, claiming that the criteria against Serbia are political and not based on objective standards.
