The Press TV correspondent says he was identifiable as a journalist by the media insignia on his vehicle, vest, helmet, and filming equipment...
A Press TV journalist has stated that he was injured by shrapnel following an Israeli drone attack while reporting from an area in southern Lebanon.
Correspondent Hadi Khoteit released a video that he claims shows the moment of the attack. He claims that an Israeli drone targeted him despite him wearing a vest with the words "Press" written on it.
Khoteit, who is being treated in hospital, said media identifiers were visible on his vehicle, protective vest, helmet and camera equipment at the time of the attack.
"I was standing in an open area," the journalist declared, adding that there could be no ambiguity regarding his status as a journalist on duty.
He reported suffering six shrapnel wounds during the incident.
Calling the incident a "war crime," Khoteit accused Israeli forces of deliberately targeting journalists.
A video circulating online appears to show the moment an explosion occurred near the journalist as he was filming. However, the claims and circumstances of the incident have not been independently verified.
Israeli authorities have not yet made any public comment regarding the allegations raised by the journalist.
