The spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova, has stated that the West is preparing destabilization in Serbia with the aim of undermining the internal political situation there.
She made the statements after the agreement that Serbia made with the EU on lithium and the protests of environmentalists in the country.
"We consider such tactics destructive and irresponsible. Abuses of this kind, especially in the current turbulent conditions, pose a direct threat to Serbia. They call into question the continuous efforts of the President and his Government to guarantee the sustainable development of the country and the well-being of the Serbian citizens. But they also prevent the implementation of an independent and principled course both in domestic affairs and in the international arena," said Zakharova.
According to her, the protests in Serbia are being instigated by the West against the current government in this country.
