"Their time is over!"/ Protester: Rama and Berisha should go away once

A fierce voice from Dibra shook Skanderbeg Square this Saturday, joining the wave of protesters demanding the resignation of the government. Amidst calls for justice and change, he raised a demand that goes beyond the mandates of this day: the permanent removal of Edi Rama and Sali Berisha from Albanian politics, making way for a new generation once and for all.

“I demand that the government have morality,” he said from the heart of the crowd, summing up decades of disappointment in one phrase. “Our governments from the 1990s have no morality.”

The protester, who confessed that he has lived in Italy for 36 years but feels that he owes his homeland, also spoke openly about his political past. "I was a democrat. I have been waiting for Berisha in the front row since I was a child, but he disappointed us,"  he said with bitter nostalgia, showing that even those who once believed, today seek the end of their era.

His criticism did not spare the current prime minister either. “Edi Rama is a disaster,” he said, making fun of his public appearances: “He says I went out naked, I did this and that.” But the essence of his message was not simply personal criticism, but a call for a cleanup of the political scene.

"Rama and Berisha should give up politics. Let the youth take over the leadership of the country," the protester emphasized, echoing a sentiment that is increasingly gaining ground in public opinion.

He concluded with a fervent appeal for unity, urging Albanians to abandon apathy and rise up for the common cause: “Albanians should join the cause, they should leave the coffee shops, it is for all of us.”
