Hundreds of Albanians from the diaspora have gathered in the city of Basel in Switzerland, where they held a protest march accompanied by red and black flags and banners with political messages against the Albanian government.
Protesters called for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama as they marched through the streets of the Swiss city in a rally that took place without incident.
The protest organizers presented the rally as part of a broader reaction by the Albanian diaspora to political developments in the country. According to them, Albanians living abroad are increasingly engaged in supporting protests and causes being raised in Albania.
Participants emphasized that the purpose of the march was to convey a common message for political change and to give voice to concerns that, according to them, have long been raised by citizens at home and abroad.
The protest in Basel is one of the latest activities organized by Albanian communities in the diaspora, which have expressed support for the protests and civic initiatives taking place in Albania.
