Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a series of phone calls with several of his counterparts today, the semi-official state news agency Tasnim reported.
According to Tasnim, Araghchi spoke with foreign ministers representing Turkey, Egypt, Qatar, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan to brief them on the latest developments on efforts to end the US and Israel's war with Iran.
This comes after Iran sent Pakistani mediators its latest proposal for negotiations with the United States.
Earlier on Friday, Tasnim also reported that Araghchi spoke with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, where they discussed and exchanged views on recent regional and international developments.
The European Commission confirmed the conversation between Kallas and Araghchi, telling CNN that they discussed " ongoing diplomatic efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and long-term security agreements ."
Turkey's Foreign Ministry also confirmed that its Minister Hakan Fidan had spoken with Araghchi regarding the negotiations.
We recall that in the meantime, Iran has submitted a new proposal to the US regarding reaching a peace agreement.
