The Supreme Court has convicted the head of Kuçova Municipality, Kreshnik Hajdari.

GJKKO sentences Kreshnik Hajdari to 9 months in prison, but this sentence will be converted into 150 hours of community work.

Hajdari requested a summary trial on January 10 when the Special Court decided to transfer the case against him for trial, after the conclusion of SPAK's investigations on December 20, 2023 for the charge of 'forging seals, stamps or forms', more than once regarding the non-declaration of the judicial process against him in Greece.

SPAK clarified that the investigations showed that Hajdari, when he ran for the head of the Kučovo Municipality in June 2019, in the self-declaration form claimed that he had never been under investigation or trial by a foreign authority, for committing a criminal offense , and has never been convicted by a final decision by an Albanian or foreign judicial authority.

According to SPAK, Hajdari, being a candidate for the mayor of Kuçovo in the local elections on May 14, 2023 when he was re-elected, also had the legal obligation to complete the self-declaration form.

However, from the conducted investigations it has been found that Kreshnik Hajdari is convicted by the final decision of 1999 by the Court of Ioannina in Greece, with the re-education measure of reprimand, for the violation: "Entering the Greek territory without maintaining the relevant legal formalities" .

According to SPAK, Hajdari had the legal obligation to declare this circumstance, in accordance with the law "On guaranteeing the integrity of persons who are elected, appointed or exercise public functions.

The mayor himself denied falsifying documents or lying on the decriminalization form, a process that is done for every candidate before competing in the elections.

The investigation into the head of the municipality of Kuçova was started after the "Together We Win" coalition informed the Central Election Commission that Hajdari had hidden a final sentence in the Greek state for "Illegal Border Crossing", which he did not he had indicated on the decriminalization form. The commission asked for the help of the justice bodies, which received confirmation from the Greek side for Hajdar's punishment.

After this. SPAK opened investigations, which were closed on November 15.

While one day before the closing of the investigations, on November 14, 2023, Ilirjan Celibashi, head of the CEC, decided that Kreshnik Hajdari should not be dismissed from office because the offense committed is not subject to the decriminalization law.
