Dramatic footage has been released by CNN, showing an Israeli reservist hitting a Palestinian man with his motorbike while he was praying in the occupied West Bank.
The attack occurred several hours after the soldier had fired shots in the area.
The footage shows an Israeli man riding a quad bike along a path in the town of Deir Jarir, in Ramallah. In the video, it is clear that he is driving the vehicle towards the Muslim man who was praying on the side of the road.
After the collision, the Palestinian is lifted with difficulty and is seen walking back towards the reservist who had hit him.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the soldier had opened fire earlier that day in Deir Jarir while wearing civilian clothes.
The IDF says it has expelled them from the army and confiscated their weapons.
