Donald Trump and leaders from Europe and NATO spoke to the world media earlier in the State Dining Room of the White House.
The US leader began the speech and then each leader spoke briefly.
-Some of the leaders mentioned security guarantees for Ukraine, similar to Article Five;
-Apparently, they were hoping Trump would engage them more, or explain more about possible US involvement, but Trump offered few details - although he made it clear earlier today that the US would provide "a lot of help" when asked;
-The leaders all congratulated Trump and his efforts so far to disrupt the peace;
-But Germany's Friedrich Merz was pushed by the US leader when he said a ceasefire was needed at the upcoming meeting and Trump disagreed;
-Trump said, remarkably, that Vladimir Putin had agreed to security guarantees, but warned that territorial swaps could occur;
-He implied that these could be determined by the current front lines;
-Zelenskyy described Trump's recent comments on possible security guarantees as "strong signals";
-But he said the territory could only be discussed in a trilateral meeting with Trump, Putin and himself;
Meanwhile, Emmanuel Macron suggested that a "quadrilateral" meeting could take place after a trilateral meeting between the US, Russia and Ukraine - although it was not clear who the fourth member would be;
-Sir Keir Starmer said the group could achieve something "historic" this evening;
-NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that "if we play this well, we can finish this";
-Both European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni spoke of security guarantees for Ukraine, similar to NATO's Article Five - meaning that an attack on one is an attack on all (it should be noted that Trump ruled out actual NATO membership for Ukraine on Truth Social earlier today);
-And Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that more progress has been made in ending the war in Ukraine in recent weeks than in the last three years
